New year is coming

Well yesterday I worked two jobs...lame. Then I decided I was gonna go play risk with 2 buddies and have a few beers. well a few games later is 430 a.m. and Im driving home know that I have to wake up to work at 530....shittty, but i did it to myself. So now I'm here at work on one hours sleep typing to a nobody lol, drinking a code red mountain dew (my fave). I will have a lot of time off of work here for the next 2 weeks so hopefully that means lots of pokers. I have a few goals for the new year as far as poker and life go.
1. 6-pack abs (not beer), I just got a punching bag, jump rope and am buying a treadmill post christmas. I belong to a gym that I will be quitting for reasons ill get into in a later post. I work out at a park by my house too, its a boxing working that includes push ups, sprints, stairs, jumping over logs, and hitting trees with sledge hammers, its intense to say the least. I am usually a very fit guy, but I have gone about 1 and half months without working out, and Ive been eating unhealthy so that I will gain some weight and get sick of fatty foods to motivate myself for the new year. This will work because its my damn number one thing.
2. Get a better job. I guess this should be number one, but I've wanted those abs for a while now and I am out of excuses for not executing.
3. Move from .5 to .25 plo by the end of the year. I will do this by mostly 4 tabling, unless I get more comfortable with more tables. Also, I want to achieve silverstar every month to try to get some rakeback. I will move up in stakes once I get 50 buyins so I still have a while before I play .10 but hopefully by feb or march I will.
4. keep the blog going, this is a must and I wish I had more followers I guess I will have to advertise or do freeroll tourneys in the future.

I feel like the brain

Well first of all another weekend is over, BOOOO!, but I only have a 2 days work week before having 2 weeks off (yaaaa!). I went to my buddys girlfriend's college grad party friday night. It was pretty fun, I saw a lot of my friends and a lot of people that I used to consider friends. Man, what was I thinking being friends with those guys. I mean they were the "cool kids" and we would just buy large sums of things that are bad for u (drugs and beer) and ingest all day and night. It's funny that most of them went to rehab, and I just went to college lol. I did have so much fun hanging out with that group, but man I'm glad those times are over and I never really got into trouble or caught for that matter. I am a lucky dude or have been in my life and I thank God every night for that. Then Saturday I had my g/f's college graduation, 2 hours of my life I'll never get back, and her name was being called right after a black dudes so u could barely hear it because they were yelling at dumb levels and continued for like 15 seconds longer than what would have been appropriate. We went back to her house for a family party and ate and she got like 400 bucks, an ipod, and a necklace. After that I went to my buddys house for a christmas party, ugly sweaters nice, and we stayed up drinking til about 6 am which is smart if your going to the rams game at 12 lol. Went to that which sucked. Now, the reason for the title of this post is not because I think im the brain from the cartoon arthur, but rather from a different cartoon....pinky and the brain. I said in my last post about how I have been playing civilizations, well last night my friends and I played a 4 hour game of risk: global domination. It was really fun and dorky and I wanna do it again soon. I did get second place, but thats just like last because when u are taking over the world u either win or lose ask hitler. I played 0 hands of poker this weekend and it was fun.

PLO and snow snow snow

Lol sorry for dumb title just flows if u read it right, p l o snow snow snow, pauses. Anyways, as the title insists I was able to get in some plo over wed night and thursday because I had a snow day at my job yay, but had to work one of my last days at other job boo. Well anyway wednesday night I was playing 3 table, (i like 3-4 with plo because Im still learning) and I was breaking even for the most part until I caught a mini heater and was up like 6 bucks I think. Which is a buy-in in about and hour and a half. Anyways there was this short stacker 2 dollar buy in hack whose name I cannot remember but I have it written down at home something like ballzbozak or something. Well he has two bucks and I have qq10j 10 j of hearts and I raise it to .17 and he makes it .30. So I decide to call just me and him to the flop. It comes q39 rainbow. Great flop for me I check, he bets, I decide he has aces and prolly thinks hes good for sure I push he calls and I win. Pretty standard for a 40bb buy in. Well he berates me and everyone else that beats him over and over. Calling me and others a donk and telling us how much we suck and everything. It was funny because he kept losing and he calls people donks we are play .2-.5 plo we are all donks, otherwise I'd play 1-2. Anyways, i looked him up yesterday and he was yelling at his other 2 tables too it was funny. Anyways I played 2 tables for an hour yesterday and went on a tear. I mean I would get it all in either them drawing dead or 90-10 and was holding everytime. I won 27 bucks in an hour, which is 5 buyins at 2 tables which is sick. so 2 days 6 buyins Ill take it. I then worked and came home to play civ rev with friends and I am a wrecking crew at that game. I nuked and sent people to space then I got an economic victory. I learn really quick at turn based strategies and they had no chance even though they have been playing for a month. Ok well I have a fun/busy weekend planned so have fun all and I prolly wont see u at that tables.

XBOX I love you and second job I hate you

Well, first of all I made a post about 2 weeks or so ago about how bad the new COD black ops was and how I hated it. Well rest assure good people of the blogging world for I did not make those remarks in vain, I meant it and I traded it in with no remorse. Some of my friends started playing civilizations revolutions last week, its like a starcraft kinda game for xbox but was more complicated. I traded in for it because the game is like 2 years old. I haven't had too much time but I have read about it while at work and need to practice some of the game theories and strategies. God that was dorky. Anyways so I worked on saturday from 8-1 with my dad sanding floors, ripping up carpet, and pulling up tack strips and flooring, fun (but I made 100 bucks, which I wont see til the end of the renovation but its nice 20 bucks and hour no tax holla). Then I went out to eat with mom and sisters for moms bday. After that I went out with friends to watch ufc fights, drank too much and was hung over sunday...nice. Normally I wouldnt care because I usually go out with about 5 guys to watch nfl every sunday, but I was scheduled to work 2nd job. I didnt go, I just turned off the phone and watched tv with the g/f all day. HAHA they were not happy I assume. Well then again it was snowing and -15 windchill and I was hungover so what could they expect. I actually put my two weeks in last night. I hate the job but it was sad because I have worked there for 5 years and built a lot of relationships. I will miss some things and people about it, but overall having that job + everything else was overwhelming. I wanna play poker and xbox and have time for g/f and sleep and have social time, without having to call in and shit. Luckily, it will all be over soon. Anyways I played about 200 hands of plo Monday and made 6 bucks or a buyin. I played distracted and garbage like, but I still was better than the people at that level. I will play tonight.

MTT and some plo

Two days ago I played some plo .5 and won 11 buck so I won back what I lost on tuesday and a little more. Last night I decided to play a little 1.10 mtt and a 45 man and 90 man sng. The sngs I just got screwed and called too light. The mtt had 4000+ people in it and I started out so hot. Not with big cards but I'd raise a little like with like 98suited and Ax suited just to keep it fun. Well I had a few spots where I'd flop 2 pair with 5 people in it and raise, get reraised and get pushed all in when they just had top pair I held on that type of situation 3 times. Then later my AQ held up vs A10. I started with 1500 and got up to like 10,000 after an hour or so and there were 2000 people left I was in like 70th. Then I get kqhh and made it like 300 blinds were 50/100 and the button calls. The flop comes q57 two hearts. I bet 500 he raises it to 1000 I push, and he waits then calls. I knew I was good when he hesitated and he had kqdd the flush came I win and up to 15,000, which is about 100bbs thats real good for one of these tourneys. Too bad thats about where I stayed. I was 30th then i got moved to a table with the chipleader and two big stacks somehow. The chipleader basically raised to 2000 every hand and would win rediculous pots. He had like 70k at this point. We got to about 700 (585 get paid) and this dude with like 14k keeps going all in like 3 times in a row and showed junk once. I had about 16k at the time and was in sb. The guy goes all in again and I wake up with AJss and called because I had been card dead and Id be up to 30k which is reasonable and would put me in the top 100. Well the ass shows 64hh and catches a 4 on the flop gg. He was bad like really bad and I still lost. I made some good raises that didnt get called and won 8/10 that went to showdown. This is why I dont play mtts often, they are fun but often end in dissapointment.

A loss in the family

I remember when I had just turned 8 years old and my life changed completely, I met the one other being that truly understood me, my loving weiner dog patti. She was beyond a dog she was a best friend, cuddling partner, racing partner, and protector. She greeted me when I came home and would listen to all my stupid childhood stories. I would tell her who I want to be, who I wish I was and all the things that no one else knew. I knew that Patti couldnt respond, but just telling a living being about your problems it just means more than I could ever express. I remember her licking my tears when I thought I was in trouble from school and my Dad would get mad. I remember racing her around the house, and her bark that I yelled at her for (but I will forever miss it). I remember when she was 3 and fought a copperhead snake and she was bitten a few times so we went to the dog hospital. My dad always acted like she was just a dog for those first three years, but in that moment I saw in his eyes that she was more. I remember when she needed surgery for her cancer that was gonna cost 1500, but he knew that money was an obstacle, it was this moment when I really truly knew that she was part of the family, like a living breathing member. I also remember getting older and she no long slept with me and I was too busy for her quite often with friends, and work and school. She understood, she always treated me the same because thats what dogs do. She'd still be there at the door when I got home and would still take a nap with me if I wanted. She is the one thing in my childhood I could count on because kids are mean to each other and so are sisters and parents are demanding, only a dog truly understands what a kid needs. I know we all complain about stupid stuff and sometimes it takes something like this to put it into perspective. She was everything a kid could want and need, she was selfless and loving and my best friend. For that I will always love you patti. Being this sad about something just reminds me that in order to be this sad something had to happen to someone that made me that happy. I love her and will never forget her, I just hope I can get my kids a dog that half as loving and cool as the one I have.

Kind of a rough night

the 6-mans were brutal last night. After work I had to go pay my car insurance before they closed, 459 dollars gone for 6 months of driving yay, then we went to wendy's then back to her house. She is going to be done with school in a week so she was finishing writing a 9 page research paper that had to have 10 cited resources, that sounded like a flippin lot to me. I have been out of college for 2 years so maybe its just for that reason. Anyways, she was busy with that so I busted out the laptop to make some easy money, or so I thought. I wanted to play like 20 games so i was 5 tabling and trying to load up a new table everytime one closed, which I usually play sets so this was something new. New is not always better I learned quickly. I played 9 tournies and lost like 18 bucks. That was the first losing day in about 3 weeks so I was pretty sad. I started off so badly, like kings vs jacks I lost to start it all off like 5 mins into a tourney aipf. I mean standard crap like that. Then i was down to 1000 in a tourney that was 50/100 blinds I was sb still had 4 people in it. The chip leader was bb and raised to 300 I called with 9 10ss. the flop came 894 I push my 700 he calls with k8 and an 8 on the turn. He bad beat me on 3 tables in less than 5 minutes. I was so pissed because I had a better hand than him over and over, he is my enemy. My last two tourney I played like crap and deserved to lose. So I just watched and episode of seinfeld that was already on, festevus, which is classic and that made me happy. I played 9 tourneys and only won 1 which is craptastic. So i loaded up 4 tables of .2-.5 plo like I had been playing and just went to work. I was raising so much, which I dont usually do beacuse im afraid to lose a big pot I like to play slow in plo and only get in good. Well I had to play this aggressive style and it really paid off. I know this is how you are supposed to play plo but I am not really adequately rolled to take the kind of swings. Well anyways I pushed the made hands and the big draws and aces preflop and guess what I won 9 bucks almost 2 buyins. I was up 3 buyins and my last hand I turned a queen high flush and knew the guy had something but not a flush, either a set or two pair so I was betting big, and guess what his set of kings turned into a boat! NO way astonishing, a miracle I lost boo hoo. Well at least I only lost 9 bucks total thank got for plo. I played well and it payed off, I think I'll play that tonight and get back to the 6mans when Im itching for them again which will be soon I'm sure.

Legal online poker?

I have read a few blogs, and the article on ESPN about this new legislation on online gambling. I cannot believe how short sighted people are about about this bill. Yes it may take 15 months before stars and full tilt come back , but they will be back for good. Haven't pro players been kind of afraid that they would one day wake up and it would all be gone for the foreseeable future? Like those poor souls in Washington that woke up a few months ago with an email saying remove your funds within the next week. I for one am willing to wait for 15 months for something real that can stay with us for the long run. To not be afraid of it just one day being taken from us with no warning. Also, when it comes back people in America will think it's legal again and deposit, also the people living that play here now will be eager to get back into it. Even though I feel like I have finally found a game that I like and that I'm improving on I am happy this could pass. I will just take out my money and bring it to the casino and try to build up a healthy roll for when internet poker comes back. I welcome any thoughts on this, also if anyone knows when this is actually going to be in affect. I personally would laugh if it happened right before the end of the year because I know a lot of american grinders are going for SNE and I would love to see them having to play like 45 hour sessions, it would be legendary and maybe teach them something about procrastinating.

The weekend

First of all to anyone that is living in the midwest, it got freaking cold over the weekend(and this week high of like 32 across the board yikes!). Well this Friday I went out with my girlfriend and her friends to a karaoke bar and then a dance club place, it was pretty fun. I ended up being the D.D. which means I quit after about 7 beers at like 1 so I could drive home at 3. The best part was I found out friday (at a job interview) that my license was expired. WTF they dont send out warnings anymore, it had been expired for almost a month. That's safe, so I woke up bright and early Saturday around 8:30 to get there when they opened. I was there on about 4 hours of sleep and could barely see the letters, yikes its time for me to wear my glasses I suppose. Anyways, I was gonna workout after that but instead took a nap, lol nice job lazy ass. So anyway I did play a little bit of poker over the weekend, a very little bit 11 games to be percise. In those I got 4 1st places and a second. So I only didnt cash on 6 of 11 which is pretty impressive. I just seem to be able to play them really well and kind of run over a lot of the weak players. I think I won 17 dollars or something for my hour and a half, which is pretty sweet for 3.25 a tourney. Well anyways I work both jobs today well I'm getting ready for second one now, its gonna be a cold night. Ill be back on the tables a little tonight maybe, or tomorrow night for sure.

More 6 mans

I played 11 3.25 6-man stts and I think I'm back in love with them. I took a few puke on my keyboard beats, but luckily i dont get chat happy or angry about it. For some reason the one that made me the least happy was kk vs. jj for 4.5k in chips, (theres only 9k in chips in these tourneys) with 4 people left, so huge chiplead. I lost a lot of crappy times in heads-up, it is maddening playing heads up with someone that sucks, making good calls and slow plays just to get sucked out on, but such is life. Anyways 11 games for a 14.85, so over a dollar per game which imo is good for a 3.25 dollar game. The good thing is i have only sucked out once kq vs aq, but i had 4k in chips to his 1k and i pushed blind vs blind, it was not a bad play he just got unlucky big time, standard imo (but i would be mad on the other side of the fence grrr). Anyways, I kinda hate working, I make no money being a TA and cant find a teaching job to make money so im still stuck at home. My g/f is graduating in 2 weeks and hopefully we can both find good jobs in the next 3 months to make money for a house (I have about 11k saved for down payment but wanna get to like 20k by may.) I love her and plan on marriage eventually, but I wanna get a house and live a little before that. I think relationships are harder work than any job, class, or anything else in life because they are 24/7 and there are no breaks!!!

6 man stts

As the title suggests, I played a few 6 man stts and it was pretty fun. I played well in each of them, which I was happy about because it has been a few weeks and I wasnt sure if I remembered my strategy, but luckily at 3.25$ tourneys the people suck. Anyways, I was really busy last night running arrands, so I only played for like 40 minutes and I played 5 at a time so I only got 5 in last night lol. I got a second place and a first place which means I profited 1.75$! Ya pretty lame but some of the beats I took just made me sad. The reason I remember not liking tournaments is because of the lack of post flop play (which in omaha is how I was winning), but then again it is nice to be able to turn of the mind a little when I play. Anyways on the tourneys I lost I ran qq vs. kk with just us 3 left (top two get paid), then I lost Ace queen to king queen in a different tourney for top stack, and the last one there were 3 of us like even in chips and the other two were aggro and my best hand was A6 got it in and lost to Q2, what can you do. I feel like I could have placed in the money in all 5 which is frustrating, but im gonna play like 15 or 20 tonight and try to make some more money.

Plans for December

Well as the title says I'm going to have some plans for December. I have been itching to play some 6-man stts so I will try my own goals for them. My goal is to play at least 200 during December, while maintaining a profit and be on the botp leaderboard at least one week. Like I said in a previous post I did play these for a short stink, and I actually made decent money, but I kind of got burnt out really quickly on them. Luckily they are short, so its not like I lost interest in them while playing so I never tilted in these which is good. I will play PLO anytime I want to and if I get bored with doing the stts. Also, I am working a lot to start of this month, like 12 days in a row 4 of which are at both jobs and 2 of which are rehabing an apartment with my dad (but he pays me 20$ cash per hour so ill make like 800 bucks by the end of the month). So I will be a busy man, but the perks of working at a gradeschool I get the last week and a half off from my real job, of course ill be working 30 hours one of those weeks with my dad but that still allocates a lot more freetime. This pleases me. Well anyways good luck to all the fellow poker players on your end of year goals/ december goals.

Fantasy (or nightmare) football

This year has seen my return to the ring of Fantasy football. It's one of many many loves, because I love to compete and it just makes me happy to beat my friends. Well I havent played in two years, which is sad. The last time I played was when LT was the man and my getting him assured me a spot in the playoffs. This year I have had more rediculous bad luck/ injuries that it is unbelievable. I mean I lost back to back weeks by a total of 3 points, and lost austin collie, pierre thomas, portis, mcfadden, nicks, and torrain to injuries. Well to make the playoffs I had to win, and two other specific people had to lose. Well going into the sunday night game the other two people had already lost, so it was up to me to seal my fate. Basically I had vincent Jackson (his first game back) + a 24 point lead and he had frank gore left. Now a little history on Gore is he hates me, and scores at will when I play against him, especially against the awful cardinals. Well I figure he is gonna score at least 24 so I need vincent jackson to get at least 6 to make it a 30 point lead to get my victory for sure. Well bend me over quick if jackson didnt get injured on the third play of the game and not return for a whopping 0 points. F me, WTF I was furious/drunk with friends at bar so not mad kinda laughing because its been that kinda year. Then I was working last night (2nd job) and updating the score on my phone, and frank gores first run was for 25 yards. WTF I was gonna lose for sure, then another update hes at 5 points after 4 minutes I thought I was done for sure. AND THEN IT ALL CHANGED, i get a text frank gore injured hip out for the game, Holla I win. Now I gotta win by a lot next week or win and a particular other person must lose to put me in the playoff with a lot of momentum. Wish me luck oh and I will play a little more plo wednesday night because I only work 1 job.

Thanksgiving weekend

Hello fellow bloggers/blog reading people. As I said in my last post I went to small town USA for thanksgiving with my girlfriends family. We played some fun games like scategories (which I dominate) and Sorry (which the little kids teamed up on me and I lost). Scategories is a fun thinking game which are my favorite, I love scrabble and games like those that make you think, it reminds me a little of poker. Anyways did that had some drinks and watch some football, good day for me. My fantasy football is beyond frustating, I will talk about them soon in a different post, yuck. Anyways I was able to play like lol 200 hands of omaha this weekend. Still playing .2-.5 because my roll and I just dont play enough to justify moving up. I was playing two tables so 200 hands was about 2 or so hours. I just can't believe how comically bad people are at that level. Almost everytime they push on me they are drawing dead or to 2 outs. It's funny, like really funny. Anyways I made some nice bluffs to make people think I got there and everytime I had a hand they would call it was a good 200 hands id say. I won 2 buy-ins so about 11 bucks which is good imo considering the stakes. Well I gotta work both jobs today so I might update tomorrow about my nightmare not fantasy football team.

small town usa

Once I get off work today at four its a 2 and a half hour drive to a town of 75 people with my g/f and her family. I can only imagine what this is going to be like. I have a lot of images from wrong turn and the hills have eyes playing through my head..Yikes. So there are going to be like 12 of us, 10 of which are visiting, and this made me think about the uh sleeping arrangements. So turns out this place has a regional theatre and we will be staying in the actors dorms. I haven't stayed in a dorm too much, but im not looking too much forward to staying there. They have like horses and other wild life, which im a big fan of, but its about freaking 35 degrees and raining and will maintain this til friday. Well, im just hoping they have wireless because im bringing my laptop and i will resume my play which i havent done since like last tuesday or wednesday. Welp, Ill update soon i try to do it as often as possible.

The kiss of death

Something that my friends and I noticed while being out of town over the weekend and going out everynight, and them trying to get laid was the true signs a girl is not havin it.
1. She looks at her friend when you dance behind her for approval and the friends makes a not so optimal face, or a look for yourself gesture.
2. She won't do the fish hook in the mouth when you are clearing doing the fisherman real her in dance (my buddies favorite and one of his only moves.)
3. She asks you to buy her a drink.
4. She is going in and out of different clubs on the same strip and back to the same club your in a few times.
5. When her friend looks like Clay Matthews, or when she wears a red dress the cool aid man, they get jealous because the hotter one.
6. This is the worst of them all because its the KISS OF DEATH!!!! We noted that if a girl or pack of girls (not sure what the term for group of clubbing girls is so lets go with a Flow of Hoes) is dancing and drinking with your friends all night and some of them are starting to make out and or dance more aggressively it seems like things might be moving forward for you until this happens: A. you get their numbers and say hey were going back to his place to keep partying you wanna come, or B. You get in their car to go back to your or their place and they say the following, "Hey, were gonna get some food do you want any?" You should just cut your losses and go to sleep, because the food makes them quit drinking, gassy or feeling fat. Especially taco bell, I think there's something they put in those dog food tacos that make girls like insta turned off. I saw it happen to my friends twice this weekend, ha and the one I brought down bought a 3 pack of condoms, I think its was karma for being to cocky. Well, back to work just updating like I said I would.

The weekend

I went to Springfield MO this weekend with a good friend of mine to visit friends that go to Missouri State. We went on Thursday night to go to this bar called the midnight rodeo, (or as we call it the hodeo) they have a 5 dollar cover charge than 1.50 for a bottle of beer, which is cheap. Also, they have a thong contest that pretty much ends the night. It was a really fun time because I love to watch people, especially when they are drinking and getting wild. Some of those girls are pro hoes, and they can shake things in ways I have never seen before, (I dont go to strip clubs, not my style). Also, most of my friends down there are single so it is hilarious to watch. I have a g/f of almost 5 years that I love dearly, so when I'm with all these guys I just get to watch laugh and try to help. Anyways we basically would just wake up the other two days around noon, brush teeth, eat and begin the drinking. It was a lot of binge drinking which I don't do that often anymore because it isnt smart or healthy, but sometimes I like to anyways. When I say binge I mean from about 2 p.m. til around 4 a.m. and repeat 3 days in a row until I drive 200 miles home and look like crap because i havent shaved or showered in 2 days. Its a blast but my stomach wont feel right til around thanksgiving (perfect timing). Anyways, the weekend was a blast but I couldnt play any poker because I was having too much fun with my good friends. I have a lot of funny stories from the weekend, and got to see my drunk friends dancing and trying to get girls, it was classic and reminded me how lucky I am to have a good girl to home to. Well, gotta work both jobs today and tomorrow, then wednesday im going with g/f's family to a town of 75, yes 75 people for thanksgiving. I have never been in a town with less than 5000 so this should be interesting. lol I'll bring the comp but I dont think they'll have wireless yikes, what year is this!! well if anyone reads this on accident make a comment so I can respond gimme something to write about. Plo Update

Last night I got home from work, ran some arrands and let the poker begin. First of all if anyone that ever accidently reads this plays .02-.05 omaha and has played with I feel sleepy please leave a comment. He's this goldstar player that plays like 10 tables, and takes like 12 seconds per decision. Not like oh man he's got a big call to make here either, its like he's folding preflop, and he literally makes all his tables of 6max have like 60 hands per hour max. It's frustrating, luckily since I'm playing only two tables I try to select around him get in more hands. Anyways, last night I played for about 75 minutes or so and i play 100bbs I won about 13 bucks in 155 hands or basically 2 and a half buy-ins. Im happy and im now up 5 buyins in 3 sessions. The only hand I remember the most was something like this: I get AcAs2c10s and raise it to .17 from the button. The bb reraises to about 40 and everyone folds to me, I call. The flop comes 4c 7c Ah. He bets I reraise, and he goes all in I call. He has 7 6 5 4 and is basically drawn dead to a 8 5 6 3 not club and if a club comes or board pairs good game. Im not sure what he thinks I have on the flop but that was a risky move imo. anyways Kc comes gg double up, lol then he doubles me up on my other table and quits. Anyways, it was a good night in the poker playing world, Im going on my weekend trip leaving tonight Ill probably play a few sessions at my buddies apartment between drinks.

COD Black ops

The name of this game should be cod black cocks, because it sucks them regularly. I am not a big gamer by any means, but I have always loved them a lot. My first system was a super nintendo. I got it right before church on Christmas morning when I was in 1st grade. I had never been happier. My first game was donkey kong and that was one of the greatest games IMO. I remember beating it in just a week, and that game is pretty long if anyone remembers. From there in 4th grade I got a Nintendo 64 and mario world, which is probably the one of my favorite all time games, and that system is one of the best too. I remember playing golden eye with an obsession, I would get out of school, do my homework than go to my neighbors house and all four of us would play bond until nine when I had to go home. It was the best time ever. That was fun until like 6th grade when I became obsessed with basketball (I always played soccer and baseball and was good at soccer but my dad put too much pressure on me so I hated it) and got my own hoop in 6th grade at played for 3 hours a night. I pretty much didn't play too much in terms of video games unless my buddies and I would play mario party for money after the poker game broke up. Also, I did play Diablo II quite a bit which is an awesome RPG, the only one I've really liked other than oblivion. The next system I got was xbox 360 about 3 christmas's ago. I even bought a hi-def TV for it. I loved it, but more importantly call of duty 4. I sucked at it for about 2 months because I was new to everything about xbox, but I played the hell out of it. I mean my g/f even would get mad about the amount of time I would play. I got really good, and started playing search and destroy pretty exclusively because it is more fun with an objective and stuff. Then world at war came out. YUCK, that was sold in about 3 weeks. Then MWF 2 came out and it was pretty fun. I ended up liking it a lot, but the first one had better maps and I dont like death streaks. But now this month came the arrival of Black Ops. Wow did they try to make it seems like halo with its game lobbies or what. First of all Halo the original is the only one that I liked, so I was not pleased with the new lobbies. Then I see there are freaking 4 million people playing when I am, and somehow I can only get in a game if I am without my friends or only have like 1 with me. WTF, 5 of my friends and I tried to play a game yesterday and we couldnt load one up. I WAS FURIOUS. If I could get full price I would return it right now. The only thing that is cool is the zombies, we got to level 17 last night, pretty intense BTW. Ok, sorry that was long but I just wanted to express my feelings on gaming and the new COD. I just wish IW would make them again, but it is over, and the franchise will fall apart because of Treyarch and Activision... Also, I plan on playing some plo tomorrow I only have to work one job so I'll have some free time, I had to work both jobs yesterday YUCK

I am actually going to take this seriously

Alright, it has been a while since I last updated, because I am always changing my mind. I decided like 2 days after my last post that I was done with 18 sngs. I played some 6 man stt's and actually liked them for a few weeks, and managed to make a little profit. My bankroll is currently at 229. I also have 40.40 invested in someone that will be playing in the regional tournaments that pokerstars is having. I'm hoping to double that up or at least get money back. So anyways, what I have been playing the last couple days is plo. I have played this before with a little success, then in one session I would make a stupid ass play and tilt on my other tables. It is beyond frustrating. Right now I am playing .5 and only 2 tables stacked. I have liked this and am learning a lot. I am playing much tighter than before and folding my pocket aces if the flop is crap for me. I have had only 2 sessions and am up 2 buyins. It is fun learning this new game as well as the people playing it are pretty bad. I have only been all in 3 times and 2 of them the other person was drawing dead lol. I plan on playing the 6-man sngs some days when i have T$ from the fpp satellites. Anyways I am going to update on thursday, then I'm going out of town to visit friends/drink and see a comedy show. I will update probably close to every other day if anyone wants to read. thx

Goals for poker

Well I read a lot of poker blogs at work because they block basically everything except blogs, and I happen to see that people use a lot of goals to motivate themselves. Well now I will too.
My account is somewhere around 170 so my goal is to get it up to 200 and get on the top 100 list for a botp during this month, so I have the rest of this week and next week to do that gl to me.

up a little down a little

Well Tuesday I had to work both jobs then workout at club fitness for the first time in a while, I have been doing a park workout with a boxing coach that is really intense, but I cannot do that on days that I work both jobs. Anyways, so last night I was off and hanging with the g/f after work and I loaded up a few games. First I loaded up a 4.40 3k gaurentee tourney. I dont really play mtt's but I was in the mood. I started it while playing cod mwf2 and after about and hour i was at 10k stack from the starting 3k which was 6th place so I decided that ill quit pwning newbs and start loading up some sngs. I loaded up about 5 18 mans, a 45 man and a 90 man. I won 1 of the 18 mans but didnt play too well, but still made a little profit on that, the 45 man i was in 4 place out of 9 and get it in my 10s vs 66s and i lost river six, gross. the 90 man I was average the whole time then took chip lead 15 people, but i am very inexperienced with any over 45 man so I failed and got 5th. So I profited 8$ on those sngs, no big deal. Then I one tabled the mtt, which lasted forever 1022 people lasted longer than I thought. I made some really good plays, where I would flop set or nut straight and people would raise on the flop, so I'd min raise or so and they would come over top almost drawing dead with top pair. When people have like 40bbs left I'm suprised how good tp looks. Anyways, I played really good, and folded when I thought I was beat, only went to showdown 9 times, but I couldnt beat a the shortstacks ever. I mean like 0-5 and I was always ahead, it wore me down and I 3 barrelled at a bad time. Then I was crippled out in 52nd place for like 14 bucks, but thats not bad considering how unexperienced I am with mtts. I might mix them in more often but maybe not, I like 18 mans because they are short and easy, the mtts r so long i played for 4 and a half hours to make 9 bucks and leave with a bad taste/move in my mouth. well anyways thanks for not reading..

Blogging, the other white meat

I haven't blogged in forever because I didn't realize how much I had to learn about online poker. I have been playing off and on since I started the blog forever ago. I have had to make 2 deposits because of shitty play and a reload bonus. I kept trying out different things. Shortstacking 50nl and then full stacking 10nl and short stacking 50plo. So far all I have found out is that I tilt too easily and that plo is an easily beatable game if you can stand the swings, which I cannot with a bankroll of like 163. So I have decided to play inside my bankroll and starting yesterday I am a reg at the 1.75 18-man tourneys. I will make a small deposit once a month to help with the bankroll. I will try to play 100 games a week and attempt to move up in stakes every month. I will require at least 100 buyins to move up in stakes so we shall see. I just started really multitabling 18 mans. I must say it is not difficult I know I can play about 10 tables now and have a lot of down time, so ill try to increase them about 2 a week until i get to 20 at a time. I will be playing these pretty exclusively for now because i need to perfect some form or poker and I know that the stt sngs r regged out and solved, and the 90 man and 180 r too long i lose interest. So far i have found that 18 mans r donk filled and reasonable in time length.

Week 1 is over mixed results

So this last week my goals were to get up to 5 dollars and to get one fpp. Last week I had to work about 62 hours, plus working out 6 days and having a g/f and going out thurs (for the story of the year concert, it was a blast), Friday and saturday. So I only go to play 3 sessions, each about an hour a piece. So the first two days i brought my total from 3.40 to 4.80 by winning in 2/4 limit holdem and 1/2 no limit. The 10 and 2 cent tourneys I played in were not too successfull. Then last night I played for about an hour and a half, I was so tired to I want playing too hot, i lost in 2 tourneys and was losing in the cash game too. Then in my last 10 cent tourney with 360 people in them I got ninth place for like 60 cents. So I finished last night at 4.80 which isn't too bad and I work a lot less this week so my goal will be to turn 4.80 into 10 and still have my goal of 20 bucks for the month of march. Also I had a great weekend, so much fun and a lot of working out and a little work, it was short but well lived.

I was considering making a TV show about a mentally challenged person thats a cop and a duck for his sidekick to fight crime. The show would be called tard and feather......

The beginning of my new poker adventure/ the reason im making this blog

Hello, this is my first ever blog and I just wanted to say hi to anyone that accidently runs into it. Like you can read in my profile I am a 23 year old TA that is looking a full time teaching job. But this blog was started mainly for my current poker interest. My poker background is that I used to play home games avidly when I was a junior/senior in highschool and then my other players moved away so I quit playing, and bought a 97 taurus on basically my 3,000 dollars that I had in poker winnings in my room. I know baller, the tauras looked like a big fuckin turtle and was apposed to having the heater work. ANYWAYS the reason I started playing poker was that I went to play for the first time at the casino over the summer (before I started working 53 hours a week) and won both times I played. So I deposited 50 bucks into pokerstars at the end of the summer and gave it a shot. I fell on my face failed. I went into this thinnking that I already knew how to play poker and well internet poker is way different. So I read about how Chris Fergeson had taken 0$ and played freerolls and in 17 months turned it into 10k. I obviously don't expect that big of an upturn but I figured I'd give it a shot. So I played in a special free tourney sponsored by pokerstars having its 40 billionth hand and I won a whopping 4.25$. Which sounds like nothing because it is. Well I played in a 2 dollar tourney and lost half of it before deciding i need to try to turn this into something and write about how far I came. I started this on march 1st. Every week I will post a goal for the week and every month I will post a goal for the month. My goal for the week of March 1st is to get my bankroll to 5$ from the 3.40, which sounds easier than it is because i cant risk losing it on something dumb, so i will be playing 2 or 10 cent tourneys along with 1 cent 2 cent no limit holdem. My Goal for March is to have 20 bucks and at least earn 10FPP, Frequent player points. Now I will leave with a joke......
