poker today

So I went to play for 2 hours today, after I worked out and ate lunch. I won 90 bucks total so that was pretty cool. I played really tight and had a really good played that I avoided at the table with me. The only hand that I won worth more than 10 dollars I had AhKd in mp and called the straddle. There were like 6 people in it and I didnt want a huge pot with AK because its nothing yet. The flop came with 3 hearts so I had the nut draw, the sb made it 15 I called and the person after me made it 35, and the sb went all in for 45 total and I called. The pot was around 140 and the heart came next, I checked, so did the woman behind me last card was a blank so I bet 50, she called I win with nuts and played a few more orbits and went home +90 which is ok. Nothing to celebrate, but always a good feeling to win. Anyways I am trying to switch to being an insurance producer instead of an agent so that I dont have my own business yet, because I am not ready. I am hoping to work 20 hours a week and play poker for 30 hours a week and move into a loft downtown. I have been checking out the buildings and their rent over the last few days and I have picked out 2 that I could live in for like 700-850 a month. My goal is to be able to make at least 1200 a month as a producer and play poker for spending money and money to invest in my roth IRA and save up to buy a house in like 6 years. I will be so excited to live in a loft downtown while I am young, because family=suburbs and that will happen eventually.

I will play againg Friday and update again. Thanks Bungbert

Back to Poker

Ok, I admit that I forgot how much I really miss poker, I mean there has to be a reason that I daydream about, read about during my free times, and want to blog about it. So Sunday I drove to harrahs, about a 35 min drive, and they had a big tourney going so the waiting list was huge, not a big deal I went to ameristar for the first time and played some 1-2. I basically just played really standard and pretty tight for the first hour. I don't play out of position unless my hand is really good, and I also don't raise from the button just because I have it. Even though it is 1-2 the standard raise is 10 bucks, and you will get at least 2 callers. Anyways, I played well, control the pot size, didn't really gamble at all. I mean I only bet when I was good, I missed a few spots due to being rusty but I am learning how to extract any extra cash. Luckily, people playing live say I'll pay you off this time and call like 15 on the river with low pair. It's awesome, I mean thanks I love it, please play with me all the time. I ended up winning 260 in about 3 hours, with no big pots to speak of. It's amazing how badly people play, I mean they call 15 bucks with 3d5d first to act. I loved it!!!
On Wednesday, I went back to play at Harrahs, because it gets a lot more business, and it was pretty similiar people. I played really tight again, and in like middle position I had KsQs and made it 7 to go. I got 2 callers, and the loose BB made it 15. 4 of us went to the flop and it was KQ5 rainbow, the blinds check and I make it 20. The button calls and the SB calls. The pot is over 100 now. Next card is a 10 and the SB makes it 40. I am thinking to myself, he fucking has AJ and has a straight, and I thought for a second theres about 150 in the pot, the dealer looks like he is going to call and if I hit a K or Q I will win a like 280 dollar pot. I call, the button calls river is a queen and the sb went all in 60 I go all in 30 more button folds he has a straight and I win the pretty big pot. I played for about 2 and half hours total and won 150 overall. I know that I can player longer sessions, but I really like just winning and once I feel like I am at a certain amount and feel comfortable to leave I do. I am up over 400 in 6 or so hours. I know that I have to be running pretty good, but I also am controlling the pot well so that I am not all in before the river fighting a draw or holding one. I think that is crucial right now. I am really considering making a run at playing this game professionally. Not some baller making tons of money, but a regular guy making a decent living doing something he loves. I have a lot of choices to make.

Everything's new

Ok, so I haven't blog in a long long time because online poker is gone and that was my main reason to blog. A lot has happened since then, long story short I resigned from my teaching job due to hating it, and got certified by cramming my two insurance tests instantly like within 8 days and not I am an insurance agent for a top 3 company. My plan for this blog now is to talk about my journey in sales, as I have no background knowledge of sales, business or insurance. Here's the deal, theres a lot of money to be made out there, and I would like to be my own boss. So I can start really selling next week and getting started is going to be really hard, and it will be my job to make sure it happens. To me failure is absolutely not an option. If I have to sell from 8am-9pm to start this business I will. I am 25 and have not kids and I'm not yet married. I plan to be great at this and I will make updates on how much I'm making, the struggles and successes. Good to be back..

Thanks, Bungbert

The weekend with live poker

Well this weekend was a fun one I'd have to say. On Friday I went out with a bunch of people for a friends bday, we played hand shuffle board in a bar for a little and drank and danced, which is always fun. Saturday I went to my buddy's house to watch the UFC fights and they didnt dissapoint. Most of the fights were pretty incredible, with a lot of good finishes and the fight with aldo was incredible/gross. On Sunday I played poker for about 3 hours. I love playing there while their is sports on. Like the cardinals were playing and I was there for the miami heat game. I was happy the heat won, but the cards lost, booo. So The poker went ok for the day. I was started pretty slow, then got some good pots, but then I did something I hadn't done in a live session yet. I called light, and bled chips until I was back to even. I forced a few plays and made bad choices. Limit poker is all about extracting value when you have it, and folding when you dont and making good reads which is easy live. So I was about 3 down when this hand happens. I have A5DD and call the blind with about 5 people in it, I am under the gun. I prayed for all diamonds and the flop comes K710 all diamonds, I was like sweet. I looked at my cards again like i didnt have it then checked and raised a guy when he bet 3. He then made it nine and I made it 12 and we went to the turn. The next 2 cards were blanks with still having the nuts and betting 6 every time and he would call. He showed K7 for 2 pair. Lol did he really not think I had a flush on the flop to be raising and raising? Well either way I played about 3 more orbits and won one more pot and left. I profited 33 bucks for my 3 hours, but it could have been 80 if I have played better which sucks, but I am learning. So over the last 9 days I have played 3 sessions totaling 8 hours and I have made 183 dollars. I am really pleased with this and my play for the most part. The only thing that sucks is I have been spending the cash when I go out lol. I said I was gonna save the bankroll and build up but I have already spent 110 of it. So I have saved about 70 of it. I will go back tuesday I think so I'll keep people updated.

Thanks Bung
